Isn’t it wonderful to randomly hear certain songs? Not on curated playlists or even in shuffles, but in a public space, on the actual radio, at an event or even the supermarket. (My music is now considered “Oldies” and therefore plays at Target sometimes) The randomness of hearing these songs (the list is longer than what Ive shared) always gives me chilly goosebumps and makes me remember goodness if I am feeling down.
There will be a day sooner than I like that my songs will be old to play any where, (and I may too old to notice) but for now let me tell you how old I am by sharing my favs.
Here are my top favorite random songs to hear:
‘Can’t Find My Way Home,’ Blind Faith
‘Get Together’, The Youngbloods
‘Wish You Were Here’, Pink Floyd
“Halleluia’, Jeff Buckly Cover, but any cover will do
‘Here Comes the Sun,’ The Beatles
‘Ripple,’ The Grateful Dead
‘Lean on Me,’ Bill Withers
‘Sinnerman,’ Nina Simone (Only heard this ONCE at a party)
‘ We Shall Not Be Moved,’ Mavis Staples
‘Bridge Over Troubled Water,’ Simon and Garfunkle
At the dog park last night. Free concert in adjoining park. “Classic Rock” cover band. “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.” Nice surprise.
